Product Manager(s), 2 roles

brightsolid online technologies delivers business critical managed hosting, connectivity, disaster recovery and business continuity services from its state of the art data centre. The data centre is underpinned by a resilient and secure network with dual location and disaster recovery options, including a fully equipped Workplace Recovery suite managed via our partnership with SunGard. brightsolid utilises the latest virtualisation technologies to provide highly available IT services though Utility and Cloud Computing.

brightsolids online publishing division has significant expertise in the digitisation and management of historical records in a fast-growing online market. It manages ScotlandsPeople.gov.uk, a partnership between theGeneral Register Office for Scotland, the National Archives of Scotland and the Court of the Lord Lyon, and 1911census.co.uk in partnership with The National Archives. brightsolid also owns and operates findmypast.com an online family history site. findmypast.com was the first website to put the complete birth, marriage and death indexes for England and Wales online. brightsolid recently launched the groups first online magazine this month called Discover My Past Scotland.

We are looking for product managers for both of our divisions. These roles ensure in an increasingly competitive marketplace we create and deliver products and services exceeding our customers expectations. Whilst ensuring the product management efforts support the company's overall strategy and goals. You will be responsible for managing the products and services throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritising product and customer requirements through market research, defining the product positioning strategy, and working closely cross functional teams to deliver best in class products and service.

With excellent industry knowledge you will work with senior management and cross functional teams to build profitable product and service offerings. The commercial focus of these roles are a key aspect to ensure profitable growth of the company. These roles also include working with sales, marketing and operations to ensure customer satisfaction targets are met. Marketing Manager

The Marketing Manager is responsible for both marketing and communications to meet the agreed company objectives. You will support senior management in the creation and communication of the strategic direction of the business, and develop and implement the marketing plan to support the strategic direction.  You will also build measurable, creative campaigns with the support of external agencies, and work closely with the sales and product management.  The role also encompasses internal and external communication.

Marketing Executive

Working for the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Executive is responsible for the coordination of both marketing and communications that support the marketing strategies to meet agreed company objectives. This includes online marketing activities, ownership of the company website and coordination of events, and internal and external communication. You will liaise with external graphic design and PR agencies.

Database Administrator

Based in our head office in Dundee you will be part of a team responsible for maintaining, monitoring and supporting the brightsolid infrastructures, clients hosted infrastructures, and internal management systems. Working closely with Service Desk team and Infrastructure team to resolve support issues you will liaise with customers and document any work undertaken.

You are responsible for the day to day administration and forward planning of a number of services used within the business for revenue generation. You will plan and carry out work within a team environment and capable of excellent communication at all levels. This is a proactive role which involves the migration of existing services onto MYSQL/SQL Server.

You must have experience installing Linux and Unix, expertise of logical and physical database design of MySQL with database administration covering MySQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL and DB2.

Programme Manager

This is a management role in which the holder has responsibility for managing brightsolids Programme Delivery capability to ensure that all projects are successfully delivered to internal and external customers. The Programme Delivery function provides a project delivery capability across the brightsolid group.

Working closely with and relying on the Chief Technical Officer to ensure the validity of any technical solutions, the Programme Manager will directly manage one or more projects as well as managing one or more Project Managers and third party vendors as required. You are responsible for leading, directing and managing the project team(s) to ensure that the agreed schedule, cost, performance and quality requirements are met.

You must be Degree qualified in with substantial experience of managing technical project or product development teams. Have expert ability to oversee the management of multiple projects with teams that may be dispersed geographically and experience in the use of Microsoft Project.
