brightsolid welcomed over 60 students to our HQ at the Dundee Technology Park to give them an insight into brightsolid and some of the exciting projects we are working on at the moment.
The sessions included a tour around our state-of-the-art facilities to see and hear first hand about some of our most high profile projects: including the digitisation of the British Newspaper Archive and the hosting of Scotland's 2011 Census. The focus was on the different career paths available in organisations like brightsolid and gave the students the chance to meet with individuals from across our business.

The questions from the students encouraged some great discussions and based on the feedback was an event enjoyed by those attending along with all of the brightsolid team.
Chris Van Der Kuyl, CEO, said "It was a great afternoon and we were delighted to be able to offer the people of Dundee more of an insight into our innovative and progressive organisation. It's great to be part of the Dundee Science Festival and it demonstrates, yet again, that Dundee leads the way in new areas of global science and technology."
In addition to this event, brightsolid also offered hundreds of people the opportunity to research their family history at an event at the DC Thomson building in Meadowside, Dundee. The brightsolid team gave an insight into where to start a search, the power of community to support a search, how to access the Scottish records and the process of building an online family tree.
