The last few weeks have been full of some pretty hectic developments, both internally and externally.
It started in mid-August with the delivery and installation of several very large generators on to the plinth that had been built in July. As well as this, we had our VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus) fire detection system and our Novec fire suppression solution system, installed. Both of these systems are of the highest specification and are necessary to ensure that our data centres are fully protected against the dangers of fire.

The final stages of development included fitting the raised access floor and ensuring that all the electrical containment had been completed. As well as this, the last of the Airedale CRACs (Computer Room Air Conditioning) units were installed and the main income supply switchgear was connected.
From start to finish the project has taken approximately four months and with a world class partner such as IBM, it has been a smooth transition from unused office space to the highest specification of data centre in the world.
The opportunity ahead for us as an organisation is to add to the already 2,000 organisations, including several FTSE 100 companies and Government Departments, that use brightsolid due to our high levels of security and outstanding cost performance.
