More businesses switching to Cloud Computing

James Richardson, Research Director at Gartner, said the perception is that Cloud-based Business Intelligence platforms can provide “a quicker, potentially lower-cost and easier-to-deploy alternative.” Although he did also highlight that many organisations are yet to reach a full understanding of cloud services and their capabilities.
He added, “Despite growing interest, the market is confused about what cloud/SaaS BI and analytics is and what they can deliver.”
In another prediction made by Gartner Data Analysts last month, the prices for 80% of cloud services will include a global energy surcharge by 2015. Some providers are already including an energy surcharge in their pricing but this is a trend that is set to grow rapidly in the coming years.
