brightsolid achieves Cyber Essentials Plus certification

We’re delighted to announce that we’ve been certified by ITGovernance.co.uk as Cyber Essentials Plus (CEP). The government-backed Cyber Essentials scheme was launched on the 5th June, 2014 and is designed to improve the resilience of UK businesses to the most common cyber security threats.  The scheme requires companies to implement five key controls:

  • Secure configuration
  • Boundary firewalls and internet gateways
  • Access control and administrative privilege management
  • Patch management
  • Malware protection

Security is at the heart of everything we do and we take cyber security very seriously.  We wanted to make sure our facilities meet the highest possible standards of security, so we weren’t content with simply meeting the basic Cyber Essentials criteria – we wanted the plus! To achieve it, we completed a self-assessment questionnaire, which was then verified by an external certification body – IT Governance, a leading provider of IT governance, risk management and compliance solutions – who also visited us to undertake an on-site assessment and internal scan.

We know that our facilities are secure, keeping our customers’ data safe is one of our main priorities, but we’re excited that we have achieved this certification so everyone else knows too.  Of course, it isn’t the only assurance of security our customers have, it joins our ISO/IEC 27001:2013 and ISO/IEC 22301:2012 certificates on the wall to give everyone the confidence that their data is in safe hands.  We have the policies, processes and people in place to maintain the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information and we’re very proud to have some of the most secure facilities in the country.
