brightsolid become the first and only Scottish cloud partner in the Microsoft Cloud OS Network
brightsolid are delighted to announce their Microsoft Cloud OS Network partnership, making them the only organisation in Scotland to meet the entry criteria for the innovative, global network.
The Cloud OS Network is a select group of world class service providers, granted access to the network based on their expert ability to serve local markets with hybrid and Azure enabled cloud solutions. Cloud OS Network partners are an elite group among Microsoft’s tens of thousands of hosting partners, rarer even than the 2,500 partners in the Gold Hosting Competency.
“When you look at the Cloud OS Network, you’re looking really at the premier service provider player. The datacenter is their business,” said Marco Limena, vice president of Hosting Service Providers at Microsoft.
Kenny Lowe, brightsolid Head of Emerging Technologies comments “It’s such a great feather in the cap to have brightsolid join the Cloud OS Network, it’s a stand out moment for the teams here and everyone’s rightly proud. This accreditation is a direct result of brightsolid’s ongoing commitment to deliver the absolute best platform, service, and experience to all of our customers. I’m really excited about the Cloud OS journey we’re on, and the benefits our relationship with Microsoft will bring to our local market and beyond.”
The Scottish provider’s entry to the Cloud OS Network is part of the ‘brightsolid data centre and cloud innovation’ strategy, which earlier this year saw the announcement of a £5 million investment into a new, Tier III data centre in Aberdeen, opening October 1st 2015.
The brightsolid Microsoft Azure-enabled cloud stack, located in the new Aberdeen facility and existing Tier III site in Dundee will offer massive flexibility, choice and cost savings. The speed at which customers can provision services as well as the simplified cloud migration process is seen by the company as a game changer for businesses embracing the cloud.
“We are delighted to have been awarded this accreditation. It ensures customers anywhere in the UK can depend on our clouds. We see a world where we hold our customers critical data in our facilities and spin up servers anywhere in the world for them. This certification, our Cisco Cloud platforms and innovative utility storage means that we can deliver that vision securely today,” said Richard Higgs CEO of brightsolid
